'My Life Is An Open
Book'. Yeah! Sure!
I'm pretty sure that most
of those who will read this 'Mission Statement', have heard this expression
somewhere in there conversations with friends and acquaintances. I am in
the process of 'Authoring' four books. These four books, when read as
chronology,
will present my life
to the world. The four books chronicle my life in four stages. The
first in the series covers from my birth to seventeen years old in Earlimart,
CA. The second, my years in the USAF and more specifically, the 15 months
on a 'Spy Base' in Trabzon, Turkey. The third, my years in the USN aboard
USS Brinkley Bass DD-887 and more specifically,
the many months spent in the Tonkin Gulf and the South China Sea, off the coast
of South and North Viet Nam in the 'Viet Nam War Zone'. The fourth book is
to cover the 40 years since my last return from Viet Nam.
This Web Site is
being 'Launched' as a 'Marketing Tool'. The 'Sole Purpose' of this Web
Site (Smokey
Stover's Place) is
to 'Advertise', Market, Sell, and 'Distribute' the four books that I am in the
process of 'Authoring'. I will maintain 'Complete Control' of these
'Books' from now through 'Publishing', 'Printing' and 'Distribution'.
Because I don't want anyone to assist me in the writing, I will proof read,
edit, rewrite, print, publish, and distribute these books with my own resources,
under my own schedule, through the facilities afforded me by the LLC which I
operate,

These books are each written about different times, places and people.
Each book will be 'Distributed' to a 'Specific' group which will immediately see
that the book was written to and about them 'Specifically'. After a
limited distribution and a limited time, I will distribute to the 'World'
through a very large distribution system.
I have sent
'Snippets' of these books to 'Publishers'. I have been told that the books
may sell better as one 'Big Book' and that the 'Book' may easily be adapted to a
'Screen Play'. I will wait to see how it 'Shakes Out' before I look at any
of those processes.
I am 66 years old.
After 8 years in the military and 35 plus years in the computer industry, I
'Retired' from the State of California, Department of Water Resources, in
2002 after 14 years as Control Systems Technician, on the State Water Project.
I have worked as hard or harder in retirement as I have ever worked in the last
40 years. I am in 'Startup' of my fourth company. I am writing four
books. I am developing 'Web Sites' as fast as I can 'spit them out'.
I own three properties of which two are 'For Sale' in a 'down market'.
I am yet in the
'Consulting Business'. This 'Web Site' presents my 'Resume' for anyone who
may wish to 'Hire Me' as a 'Consultant' or 'Web Developer'.
I will keep everyone
advised as to the 'Publish' and 'Release' dates of my books.
